Facing Your Shadow

Facing our own shadow is a tough journey. If we’re finding it easy, we’re probably not really facing it. Because it’s exactly the parts we do not want to face.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As we meet it, embrace it, find peace with it – in its existing form…we bring another part of our Self Home & awaken more Self Acceptance.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This in turn has the incredible bonus of shifting our perception of how we see others.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Naturally the elements we reject within, ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We reject externally.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And the elements we reject externally, we have a unique relationship to within – to even have that type of reaction.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And so it works both ways.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Each of our perceived enemies are unique to each of us. It is literally those that trigger us.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As we come to peace with what is being triggered within, we open up the supreme force of Compassion that yields no boundaries. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It seeks to unite us. Bringing the light & dark together.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is a wisdom far beyond our dualistic thinking.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As we invite it into our lives, it does not stop there.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It seeks to radiate outwards.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It touches the ideas of those we have sought to fight, to detest, to be repelled by.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We now understand them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Where they are coming from. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We can only access this through our own shadow.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our shadow links us all together. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They are us.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And we are them.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The ‘us vs them’ is an expression of our own inner separation.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This doesn’t mean that we all act like each other. Or that we are ‘exactly’ the same. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It means through understanding, through compassion, through awareness – we find solutions within. Therefore we can find solutions outside. We find unification.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ultimately this is what brings us peace. And this is what brings us together.
